Why is it for the UK market only?
Say you live in Australia and order a paperback. It’s easy, because Andrew has a dedicated book printer in Australia who can print the book and ship it straight to you at local rates. But if you wanted a signed or dedicated copy, Andrew would have to order it from his book printer in the UK, sign it, and then post it to Australia. That postal cost is massive.
For UK customers, Andrew could sign it from his own stock and post it straight to you.
So what about global customers? Andrew hopes to be able to offer book plates in the not too distant future. You go ahead and buy the book in the normal way, and buy a bookplate from Andrew’s website. It’s like a postcard but decorated with the book’s cover instead. On the reverse side will be Andrew’s signature and/or dedication - the price of posting a bookplate is significantly cheaper than posting a book.
